State Representative Deanne Mazzochi (R-Elmhurst) attended the celebration marking the 107th Independence Day of Taiwan, Republic of China. The event, which took place Friday night at the Chicago Cultural Center, was sponsored by the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Chicago.
The Taipei Economic and Cultural Office promotes trade and cultural exchange between the states in the Midwest and Taiwan. Several elected officials from Illinois, Wisconsin, and Indiana attended the event and gave brief speeches.
In her speech, Deanne Mazzochi explained that the 47th district has significant Taiwanese and Asian populations that appreciate the benefits of living in the area. “One of the reasons they are attracted to the district is because there are so many shared values – a strong faith, a belief in family, hard work, and the entrepreneurial spirit – a real vison that everyone can maximize their potential for success by supporting education, forming strong business partnerships and building communities.”
Mazzochi also added that the state of Illinois offers excellent opportunities for business because of its key benefits, including “a strong agricultural base, robust manufacturing, and top-notch universities.”
Representative Mazzochi values the relationships she is building with the Taiwanese people and hopes her association with the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office will provide opportunities for building meaningful business partnerships and economic development in Illinois.
